Message of Solidarity from the TSU-OECTA
To the Women’s Housing Takeover:
The Toronto Secondary Unit of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (TSU-OECTA) supports your action to create housing for women and children.
We know that there is an insufficiency of low-income and subsidized housing in the province of Ontario that often leaves women trapped in abusive situations or forced to live in poverty, as they try to provide adequate food for their children.
Such a situation constitutes a violation of fundamental human rights for women and children.
We commend the Women’s Housing Takeover for your action in bring attention to this deplorable situation. We hope your action will evoke a positive response from all levels of government and bring hope to the women who suffer indignity every day.
Our best wishes for a successful action.
In solidarity,
Toronto Secondary Unit -Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (TSU-OECTA)
